Challenge 1 – Write a song

Watch the video below and then write new lyrics for the song, using words and sentences you have learnt so far. Work in small groups and then sing the song to the rest of the class. You could also record or film your performance and show it to your family!

For example:

Wǒ de bàba

Wǒ de bàba

Nǐ hǎo ma?

Wǒ hěn hǎo

Wǒ hěn hǎo

Nǐ ne? Zàijàn!

Arts and Crafts – Can you add your family members to the poster in your classroom? Cut-out speech bubbles and present each new person, giving as much information as you can about them. For example:

Zhè shì wǒ de dìdi.

Wǒ de dìdi jiào John.

Wǒ de dìdi liù suì.

Wǒ de dìdi zhù zài Àidīngbǎo.

Wǒ de dìdi shì Sūgélán rén.

 

This is my younger brother.

My younger brother’s name is John.

My younger brother is 6 years old.

My younger brother lives in Edinburgh.

My younger brother is Scottish.

 

At home – Try to teach your family the words for at least 4 family members
